Help & FAQ
Answers to common questions.
What does IBCT teach?+
Business continuity, emergency management, risk management, disaster recovery and crisis management — from introductory to professional level, grounded in ISO standards such as ISO 22301 and ISO 22361.
Where do I take the online courses?+
All online courses run on our course portal at BCMcourses.com. You can enroll and start at any time and study at your own pace.
Are the courses accredited?+
Yes. Our courses are accredited by the National Institute for Business Continuity Management (NIBCM). The diploma programs are recognized as equivalent to 2 years of on-the-job training.
Which course should I start with?+
New to business continuity? Start with BCM701 Business Continuity Management Essentials. For a deeper grounding, BCM801. For the most comprehensive program, the BCM901 Diploma. Auditors should look at BCM201, and crisis leaders at CMC901.
Do courses include a certification exam?+
Diploma and certificate programs include the exam for their NIBCM designation — for example BCM901 includes the BCRP exam and CMC901 includes the ACMP exam. Exams can also be purchased on their own.
What are the exams like?+
Each exam has 100 multiple-choice and true/false questions with 90 minutes to complete. You get two attempts. The pass mark is 70% for professional designations (BCRP, BCRA, BCMP, ACMP, CCCM) and 50% for associate designations (ABCM, AACM).
Are there requirements for the BCRA designation?+
Besides passing with 70%, you need either a comprehensive course of study in BC audit (such as BCM201) or at least 2 years of verifiable BC audit experience, including ISO 22301.
